Team Leader Dispatch – Italian Transport
The goal of the position
Responsibility for the operational and economic management of transport to Italy, as well as leading an existing dispatching team to ensure a smooth, on-time and cost-optimized transport process.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Professional and disciplinary management of the dispatch team in Italian transport
- Planning, control and monitoring of international transports (FTL/LTL) to and from Italy
- Maintenance and further development of existing customer relationships
- Management and deployment of subcontractors and own vehicle fleet
- Price negotiations with customers and freight carriers in coordination with management.
- Ensuring compliance with legal regulations (driving and rest times, cabotage, documentation, etc.)
- Quality and cost control as well as optimization of transport processes
- Escalation management in case of disruptions (delays, damages, complaints)
- Close collaboration with sales, billing and management
- Employee onboarding, training and development
Requirements / Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience in international truck dispatching , ideally in traffic to Italy
- Demonstrable leadership experience in logistics
- Very good knowledge of the European transport market, especially Italy
- Fluent German and Italian language skills required; English is an advantage.
- Safe handling of TMS systems and MS Office
- Entrepreneurial thinking, decisiveness and high resilience
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and team orientation
